COMMERCIAL TRUCK INSURANCE

Trucking & Logging is our specialty!

At "Evans Insurance Agency" we specialize in insurance coverage's for loggers, and commercial trucks is just one of the many products we offer for loggers.

With nearly 20 years experience in the logging markets we feel that we can not only offer a very competitive policy but also can relate to and understand the individual needs of the loggers we serve.

We are members of numerous logging associations and have been an associate member of the ACL (Associated Contract Loggers) of Minnesota since its inception.

Trucking & Logging is our specialty! We are also proud of our affiliation with mills that contract with the loggers and have worked hard to present the mills with an accurate and informative idea of the impact that insurance costs and coverage's have on the independent logger.

We also serve on the board of directors for Timber For Humanity and its affiliated organization Log-A-Load for kids.

Our logging programs are specialty agent contracts and as such are designed to assist loggers who have a strong background in the timber industry with a history of being leaders in their industry while maintaining a safe work site and being good stewards of the land that they work on. Some of the additional criteria that we use in our field underwriting process includes:

  • Verification of good maintenance and upkeep for all units being insured.

  • Verification of driving records for all operators in the business. To attain this we will ask for driver's license numbers and length of experience for each operator.

  • Trucking & Logging is our specialty!
  • Requests for claims history from previous insurance companies. If a claim loss run is not available we will request a signature on a generic verification of claims form.

  • A complete listing of all units to be insured is necessary.

  • We will make a determination of the radius of operation based on the mills that are receiving the wood that is being transported.

  • Names and addresses of all individuals and businesses that might request a certificate of insurance. Most often this includes the local mills as well as any lienholders or other loggers that the trucker might be hauling product for.

Advantages of having your truck insured with us include:

  • Fast, fair and professional claims handling.

  • Knowledgeable Staff
  • In most cases having a 24-hour response time from our adjusters.

  • Having an agent whose office is centrally located in the heart of Minnesota's timber area.

  • Dealing with a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient agency staff that is dedicated to the needs of timber producers in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

  • Feeling secure in the knowledge that you have an agent working for you to attain and maintain a quality product that is competitively priced.

  • Satisfaction in knowing that your agent will provide you with an accurate policy and will handle all your needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Special Coverage's We Would Suggest:
  • Liability limits of at least $500,000 for all units. In many cases we will recommend limits of $750,000 or 1 million if the circumstances reflect the need. (When State and Federal filings are involved limits exceeding the $500,000 level may be mandatory.)

  • Trucking & Logging is our specialty!
  • Hired and Non-Owned Auto coverage for any fleet clients. This protects the fleet owner in cases involving hired truckers who might be hired to haul excess product and provides additional coverage beyond the limits of liability coverage that the hired trucker might have for severe accident situations. The non-owned coverage relates to exposures associated with business operations that might be done by non-owned autos such as a staff person using his/her own auto for mail delivery etc.

  • General liability coverage to protect the trucker for exposures which might occur when the truck is not moving. These exposures may seem minimal but a timber hauler may be loading a truck with a center mount loader and the loader could cause a loss. Since the truck is not moving the loader loss would not be covered by the truck policy but would rather be an exposure for a general liability policy. (This assumes that the agent has written the general liability policy with a logging and lumbering exclusion included in the policy provisions).
